ABOUT GÜL – ÇETİN KAUR ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL

Guided by its motto 'Believe first to achieve', our school is the oldest and pioneering educational institution in Kumluca. It was opened in 1965 and throughout its longstanding history; it has contributed to formation of influential individuals locally and nationally.

In all our activities, we are guided by the principles of awareness and engagement, enabling our students to get to know themselves first and then focus on their goals.

Our mission is to raise self-aware and responsible individuals.

Our vision is to be a school that stands out from and is preferred over the rest with its academic level and socio-cultural facilities.

Our core values:

- Each individual is of value to us;

- Our relationships are based on love and respect;

- We are aware of our responsibilities;

- We owe our existence to our national culture;

- Knowledge is power and we manipulate it through reason.

Gül – Çetin Kaur Anatolian High School is the largest secondary education institution in our district with its headcount of 778 students. Our school has 33 classrooms and an academic staff of 48 teachers, including 2 counsellors.

One of the biggest advantages of our school is the accessibility provided by its central location. It has got a safe and spacious garden that is full of ficus, olive, pine and citrus trees and ideal for sports activities. Our Z-Kütüphane (enriched library) provides access to 2,500 books including the latest publications. A bearer of the European Quality Label, our school regularly organises sports events, fun club activities and trips and takes part in eTwinning and EU projects. More importantly, we are happy to let you know that there are friendly students all around as well as genial and experienced teachers who are always ready to satisfy your learning needs.

Inspired by Wittgenstein's famous quote 'The limits of my language mean the limits of my world', we have already demonstrated our competence in foreign language teaching and continue to improve ourselves in this domain.

We have strong faith in democracy and as a reward for our commitment to it; our student representative was elected as the president of the provincial student assembly in the academic year 2018 -2019.

All of the above contribute to our image: today's and tomorrow's school of choice. This image is enhanced by faithful parents, enthusiastic students and favourable physical conditions. We also benefit greatly from the strength of the bonds between the school management, parents and students.

Like Frederic Mistral said, 'Trees with deep roots grow tall' and we have been working hard to take our rich heritage into the future.
